Hair Product Review: Soultanicals Can’t Believe It’s Knot Butta

hair product 2

Once upon a time I wanted to make YouTube videos about curly hair product reviews, but since that didn’t exactly pan out, I decided to talk about hair products here on my blog instead, because why not? After all, I contain multitudes.

Can’t Believe It’s Knot Butta

What It Is: Leave-in. I think. It might be a styler.

Slip: So much slip! I really loved how this went onto my hair; it glided along the strands even though my hair wasn’t soaking wet. It was just so easy to manipulate.

Moisture: This is definitely a super hydrating and super moisturizing product; it absorbed into my hair very nicely and made it super duper soft. It also didn’t leave it feeling greasy!

Shine/Frizz Factor: It was okay in terms of shine, and frizz was only okay too.

Definition: This is why I’m pretty sure this is a leave-in and not a styler, because my curls weren’t really super defined with this product.

Smell: Again, like the previous Soultanicals product I used, the smell is just abhorrent. When I was applying the product I literally felt like I was trapped in a room with noxious fumes; I almost got sick. It’s such a strong smell. Luckily, unlike the other Soultanicals product, it doesn’t stick to the hair for very long; once my hair dried, it had pretty much faded. But still.

Packaging: Awesome! I love the logo of the brand and their packaging is really fun and colorful. Great aesthetic. Jars are my favorite kind of packaging, since you don’t have so struggle to dig the product out.

Price: Rather pricey for a meager 8oz! It’s approximately $15-17, depending on where you purchase it from.

Overall: If I were super desperate I might purchase this again, but as it stands the smell is just way too overpowering for me to voluntarily use this. I’ll finish off the jar I have and that’s that. I don’t know if I want to try any more Soultanicals items, since it seems like they have an issue with smell (or at least, I have an issue with their smells).
