Behold this gorgeous artwork of my two main characters from THE DAUGHTERS OF IZDIHAR!
New month, new TBR! I’m currently in the middle of both GODBLIND and BEWARE THE WILD.
SUNDIAL by Catriona Ward was…something. It’s a very unsettling and disturbing psychological horror novel, set in the Mojave desert, with two unreliable narrators, so it keeps you guessing until the very end. Then it hits you with one twist after another. It wasn’t pleasant, but who wants their horror novels to be pleasant, right? This also has a stunning cover!
Another book haul! Three of these I’ve read already and enjoyed enough to want my own copy, but the other three are brand new, and all literary. I don’t ordinarily buy lit fic because it’s often so very hit or miss for me, but these are all written by Arab women, so I have high hopes. Plus the covers are all stunning!
The very lovely spines of my latest book haul! I haven’t “hauled” books since November of last year, so I’d say I’ve been relatively disciplined on that front. Of course, this order is part one of two, so it seems my discipline is no more! 😅
Man, these happy colors do not match this book AT ALL, but oh well. Also please ignore my reflection in the cover. 😅
Happy release week to IF AN EGYPTIAN CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH by @noorsnaga! I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC from @graywolfpress and loved it so much I bought my own copy!
Spent a fantastic day with a friend eating ramen, buying used books, unraveling several plot threads in Book 2 (seriously, we untangled some STUFF), and watching Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (first time for me!). And a sweet old man told me my dress was pretty. 😊
tabby turns 13 yrs old this month and he is the best old man
